Solana Validator Program: How the Queue Works
The program enjoys significant popularity: dozens of new participants apply daily and join the general queue.
The queue is constantly moving: if one validator shuts down or loses performance, the next one takes its place. The speed of progression depends on various factors: sometimes it takes weeks, while other times – just a few days.
Our technical specialists provide ongoing support for client validators to ensure they meet the program’s requirements and successfully join mainnet.
In July, we recorded a noticeable acceleration in the progression of our validators.
«On April 24, 2025, the Solana Foundation announced a reform: «onboard 1 → offboard 3». This means that for every new SFDP participant, 3 VINO validators (those in the program for over 18 months with less than 1000 SOL in external stake) are removed.
This measure led to a mass removal of inactive validators in May and June. By early July, hundreds of spots had opened up.
The acceleration was also influenced by:
Increased network activity: in July, the volume on Solana’s DEX platforms exceeded $1.4 trillion;
A change of testnet epochs (806-813) allowed for a recalculation of bonus performance, updating the rankings.
From a technical perspective, the key is to ensure the validator server’s software version is always up to date. This is a critical condition for passing epochs and maintaining high performance», – shared a DevOps Engineer from the ecosystem.
For example, on 13.07.2025, DigiU client validators were at positions 1629 and 1637 in the queue. Today – they are already at 1237 and 1250.
